Film
Ever since taking a video production class junior year of high school, I have been enamored with film as a creative outlet. It allows me to capture the same incredible settings as photography, but also to imbue them with personality which I can alter drastically with a change of music, frame rate, or sequence order. Capturing the wild places I love has also presented itself as a challenge which I am still working to overcome; climbing twice as far as the rest of my group to get a wide shot or staying up till the moon rises only to realize upon editing that my settings were off, and having to try again the following weekend. These challenges present a welcome layer to my outdoor experiences, but also remind me to remain more in the moment; as beautiful as footage is, it will never quite replicate the full sensory effect of the time it captures.
